Essential Functions and Objectives:

Detailed responsibilities:
* ELA Designation: ELA-E
- - Provides instruction to linguistically diverse students in English only.
* Early Childhood Special Education Job Description
- Provides direct services to preschool age children with disabilities in the general ECE classroom. Consults with special education teachers in buildings for continuity of instruction and services. Participates in problem solving meetings for preschool age children enrolled in ECE classrooms. Instructional approaches will align with District ECE expectations paired with specially designed instruction in the areas of communication, motor, self-help and social skills, with emphasis on developmental curriculum that is evenly balanced among these areas.

Education Requirements:

Copy of official/unofficial transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours, Associate's, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. You do not need a course-by-course, just a basic evaluation. Visit www.naces.org for approved service members).

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the TABE D Adult Education Test for Reading and Math.

OR

Copy of high school diploma or GED and proof of passing the WorkKeys exam, if passed prior to June 2018, in reading for information and applied mathematics. Score of 4 or higher in both is required.

OR

Copy of your high school diploma or GED and SAT scores (within the last 5 years) of minimum 500+ in Math and 470+ in Reading.

For ECE Para's Only:

Copy of your high school diploma or GED

AND

Must successfully complete ECE 101 within a designated period of time which will be determined after hire.

Testing is available at the Emily Griffith Testing Center for $20.00

Required Scores are:

- Reading score of 536 or higher

- Math score of 547 or higher
