The After School Program Manage (ASPM) will plan, organize and manage the implementation, operation and all components of the 21 st Century Program according to the approved grant. Supervises all staff affiliated with the 21st Century Program including Teacher Site Leads' (ASTSL's), Teacher Tutors (ASTT's), Paraprofessionals (ASP), Administrative Clerks (ASAC) and Parent Liaisons (ASPL's). Provides management oversite and coordination of program initiatives and special projects within the 21 st Century Program. Serves as liaison between program and external entities such as GaDOE, vendors, contractors and community. Also, the Program Manager is responsible for implementation of all components of The Eagle Academy, such as reporting annual documents, preparing staff payroll, and serving as a liaison to 21st Century. The Program Manager begins the year preparing for the program in August and he/she is responsible for the end of the year close out in July.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Manages and supervises program operations and staff: administers policies and procedures according to district and grant specifications
  • Communicates with Principal(s), staff, families and program contractors on all aspects of the after school program
  • Ensures timely and accurate submission of all program reports to appropriate agencies
  • Provides periodic reports to the Principal and Lead Program Manager on all audits, monitoring visits and program evaluations to ensure the program is in compliance and aligned to state and district regulations for the grant
  • Works with appropriate district and state personnel on the annual grant budget to ensure that the program meets required financial obligations and is financially secure
  • Works with Principal and Lead Program Manager to review program outcomes; assess program impact on student achievement and adjust programmatic expectations accordingly
  • Works with the Advisory Board and Community Partners to establish and maintain family literacy centers
  • Ensures Proper retention of all grant related documents and files according to state and district guidelines for the 21 st Century Program
  • Implements safety and security plans; ensures staff understands all safety and security procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
  • Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated

  • Knowledge of After-School Programs including locations, space and cost
  • Ability to administer age-appropriate activities
  • Knowledge of 21 st Century Grant Program (or similar)
  • Knowledge of school safety and security procedures
  • Knowledge of National Standards for Quality School-Age Care
  • Ability to analyze and solve issues while communicating processes and results to diverse constituents
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Ability to perform general management and supervisory duties
  • Ability to think creatively and interact effectively with diverse constituencies
  • Ability to develop and manage multiple constituent relationships and program components simultaneously
  • Ability to complete multiple responsibilities simultaneously under time pressure

Requirements :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree required

Master's preferred in education

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

T5 - T7 Georgia Teacher Certification preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE:

3 years of successful teaching in a classroom setting and/or 1 year of administrator experience working in After School Programs preferred.

Current Atlanta Public Schools (APS) employee preferred.

Compensation :

Salary Range: $32.78 an hour
Work Days: Hourly

This position will not exceed 29 hours a week.
