CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the bus driver in maintaining the safety, behavior, and well-being of students on and off the bus and while en-route. Provide focused assistance to students with special needs while being transported and assist students in the event of an emergency.
Reporting Structure: You will initially report to the Transportation Coordinator, and then you will report to the Transportation Director.

- Maintain control of students on the bus and handle all emotional and physical conditions that affect the safety and welfare of students.
- Assist students entering and leaving the bus.
- Assist driver in safely and properly unloading and loading students in wheelchairs using the lift.
- Secure wheelchairs, safety vests, integrated car seats, seat belts, and walkers.
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds as needed.
- Assist the driver with situations of problems encountered with students in the bus.
- Communicate with bus driver, transportation staff, parents, students, teachers, and school administrators.
- Assist substitute drivers with route.
- Perform emergency and evacuation procedures for stopping gand securing the bus in the event the driver is incapacitated.
