Job Title : 2022-2023 Club Encore Tutor

Pay Grade: GRP 3-D, $1,125 (per club)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Club Encore Liaison/Building Principal

  • Start Date for 1st Semester: September 12, 2022
  • Length of Service: 20 sessions or approximately 10-weeks before or after school (pending tier schedule) program each semester.
  • 2 hour training required prior to start date (1st semester training: Sept 7th)


GENERAL PURPOSE

The Club Encore Tutor (previously referred to Extended Learning Program) will deliver instruction and provide educational support to eligible second through sixth grade students who perform below grade level expectations in Literacy and/or Math. Club Encore services are offered to eligible students 90 minutes each day, either on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule, outside of the regular school day as scheduled by each elementary, intermediate and middle school campus. Teachers will have the option of facilitating one or two clubs per semester.

Essential Functions:
  • Participates in a Club Encore 2-hour tutor training session at assigned tutorial site for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform the position's functions. Trainings for liaisons and tutors will occur at the beginning of September.
  • Implement Club Encore curriculum for 20 sessions, 90 minutes per session.
  • Prepare all materials for each tutoring session (supplies will be provided).
  • Communicate student successes to parents.
  • Remain with students after tutoring until all students have been picked up by approved guardian.
  • Communicate essential data to site liaison and coordinator on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Certificates, Licenses and Requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain substitute certificate, or current teaching certificate is required, providing sufficient proof that the process has been started prior to hire (All fees for the initial substitute certificate and renewals, which occurs every 4 years, is the responsibility of the staff member.)
  • Background clearance, the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 5% walking, and 75% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
  • Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.
  • The work is light work which requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Must possess the physical ability to work primarily with fingers, perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.
  • Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, grasping, hearing, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, visual acuity and walking.
