Payroll Assistant - PART-TIME
25 hours per week, flexible schedule available between the hours of 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Educational Service Center (ESC) in the Omni Centre

SUMMARY
Perform all duties associated with the processing and maintenance of a confidential employee payroll for the District.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Assist in maintaining, monitoring and calculating employee payroll.
? Process time sheets and enter data into the payroll system as required.
? Provide training to employees on payroll services.
? Complete and maintain federal, state and district reports, i.e., IPERS, unemployment, etc.
? Calculate and set up garnishments. ? Process Work Comp. leave adjustments
? Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
? Required:Experience using Microsoft Excel.
? Preferred: Associates degree in accounting or business.
? Preferred: 3-5 years experience processing payroll.
? Preferred: Knowledge of timekeeping software.
? Preferred: Experience in completing payroll quarterly tax forms.
? Preferred: Beginning to intermediate understanding of payroll law.
? Preferred: Payroll certification.
