POSITION OVERVIEW:
Chief Coordinator-Planner will be responsible for the selection and procurement of new BPS furniture. Work with BPS Educational Superintendents and School based Leadership in developing standards for classroom furnishings to meet today's educational needs. Develop long range plans for the replacement and upgrades of furnishings, and implement these plans within facilities Capital Improvement, New School Construction and renovations projects. Coordinate in moving furniture across the district. Planning furniture deliveries for new spaces as well as removal from old spaces. Searching and securing warehouse space and management. Will also assist in managing moving contract. Declutter and debris at schools. Work with PFD on similar project scopes as BPS Facilities liaison.
RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Work with the Public Facilities Department on similar project scopes as a BPS Facilities liaison.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years experience installing, maintaining, repairing modular office partition and furniture systems.
  • Experience in Public Schools Construction Management and Design, and selection-procurement of Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FFE)
  • Knowledgeable in Public Procurement including MA General Laws Chapter 30B.
  • Basic Computer Skills required.
  • Valid MA Drivers License required.

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED :
  • Associates or BS Degree in Architectural or Construction related field.
  • 10 years experience in Public School construction projects, and selection-sourcing of FFE.
