WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt

PAY GRADE: AM 3 ($66,738-$80,406)

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Compensation Coordinator will work closely with the Director of Compensation, Benefits & Leaves overseeing the day to day operations in the Compensation Department. Overseeing the hiring process and working closely with the finance department implementing procedures to ensure proper coding, correct data entry and accurate reporting. Monitor, evaluate and reconcile the data. Lead and supervise staff and oversee the processing of new hire including on boarding and off boarding process for district employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; or a combination of education and direct experience in HR Compensation equivalent to a degree (based on HR review and approval).
  • 3+ years' experience in Human Resources or Payroll

  • K-12 Experience

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Hire, train and support designated staff.
  • Create and update position codes.
  • Oversee the auditing process with internal and external salaries and records.
  • Oversee and complete salary surveys for internal and external requests.
  • Responsible for working closely with all levels within the district for proper coding, budget codes, and position control.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating job descriptions.
  • Oversee the process for on boarding and off boarding for employees of the district.
  • Oversee the electronic flow of status forms, supplements, and resignations.
  • Work closely with the payroll team to research and resolve salary concerns.
  • Oversee the contract recommendation and distribution process.
  • Oversee the approval process for service records for district employees.
  • Work closely with the HR Analyst and Finance Analyst to review, analyze and synthesize data; and to pull data reports for TASB pay study and to audit HR hiring processes for accuracy of data.
  • Work closely with the Compensation, Benefits and Leaves Director to maintain a working compensation manual that reflects updates throughout the year.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: physical mobility, standing, prolonged sitting, some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling. This position will also require both traveling within the district and state wide. Mental demands: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations; ability to interpret a variety of data; ability to interpret TEC and policy; ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory, ability to be effective in both oral and written communication; ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

That number will change soon with the construction of several new facilities – including two middle schools, three ninth-grade centers and a state-of-the-art stadium that will serve the entire district – all funded by a bond referendum approved by voters in 2016.
