Reports to: Director of Choice Programs

GENERAL PURPOSE

This position is responsible for supporting the instructional program with specific responsibilities for designing, implementing, and delivering professional learning to inform instructional best practices. Responds to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. Collaborates with the Choice Programs department, Learning Support, Learning Development and the Jarrett community to create, implement, support, and maintain STEAM learning and programming at Jarrett.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Designs professional learning activities implementing professional learning that address identified needs.

Assists teachers, district and building administrators on developing and delivering professional learning serving as a liaison and resource, identifying training needs and/or delivering professional learning services.

Supports classroom instruction through supporting the implementation of created curriculum, instructional techniques and positive classroom environment.

Assists teachers in developing blended learning activities, integrated learning units, STEAM instructional strategies

Monitor success metrics as measured by developing relevant and personalized learning for all students.

Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and increase professional growth.

Prepares a wide variety of written and digital materials documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.

Researches a variety of information on the developments in the field of STEAM instruction and learning and research-based strategies developing new programs that meet staff training needs.

Responds to inquiries from teachers for the purpose of building capacity, resolving problems, coaching, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel.

Lead research and development through the ideation and implementation of a STEAM themed learning environment.

Promote and communicate STEAM programming to internal and external stakeholders on the whole-school Choice Program offering.

Work collaboratively with Jarrett administration, coaches, leadership team to integrate and include STEAM learning within the established PLC's and include STEAM in the Jarrett SAP.

Attend and participate in content and grade level team meetings.

Lead Jarrett through the Choice Program endorsement evaluation process.

Performs other related duties as required/assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Master's Degree in job-related area from an accredited college or university, preferred.

Five (5) years teaching experience, required.

Certificates, Licenses and Other Special Requirements

Missouri Teaching Certification, required.

Ability to obtain and maintain "Highly Qualified" status as defined by Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, required.

Must pass a Criminal Background Clearance the results of which must be satisfactory to the District, required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems.

Knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include pedagogy, andragogy, and learning theory; bookkeeping principles; concepts of grammar and punctuation; office application software including relational databases and conflict resolution.

Skill to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to routinely upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.

Skill based competencies required to perform the functions of the job, including applying assessment instruments; operating standard office equipment including using pertinent software applications; and preparing and maintaining accurate records.

Ability to analyze situations to define issues, draw conclusions and create action plans.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work environment is primarily inside, where the noise and temperature levels are moderate.

The work is light work that requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.

Must possess the physical ability to perceive the nature of sounds, make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes, express or exchange ideas by the spoken word, substantial movements (motions) with the hands, wrists, and/or fingers, and discern letters or numbers at a given distance.

Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, manual dexterity, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
