Holy Cross, an Independence Mission School, is seeking an After School (CARES) staff member & Lunch Aide.

Lunch/Aftercare Aide

This employee will assist in maintaining a safe and pleasant atmosphere during lunch, recess, and aftercare. After lunch, the employee will plan activities for aftercare and provide support in classrooms or other areas as needed or assigned until dismissal, when the aftercare program begins.

This employee will:

Supervise students in the cafeteria during lunch. Monitor that students are seated in assigned areas. Circulate to be available if children need assistance.

Communicate with the classroom teachers about any relevant concerns.

Inform principal of any serious infractions of discipline rules by students.

Brings medical problems and injuries to the immediate attention of principal.

Is alert at all times to the children and their needs.

Supervises students in the play area and during transitions.

Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

A minimum of one year of experience in working with children and/or in the supervision of children

The ability to work successfully with children

The physical ability to perform assigned duties

Experience working in a school-setting experience preferred

Other Pertinent Information

Successful candidates must be able to clear all required background checks

Hours: 10 AM to 6 PM, 10 months
