    Job Description:
    LEARN is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented self-starter with problem solving skills and a team attitude to join our organization as Grants Manager. This individual will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work closely with the Finance Manager. This position will provide an opportunity to implement new initiatives.

    Key Deliverables:
    • Support and create grant applications for Title I, II, III, IV and ESSER Funding. Work with Principals, CFO and Finance Manager to complete the applications within deadlines.
    • Provide timely and accurate financial information to school leaders and regulatory agencies. Support completion of regulatory grant expenditure reporting.
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with grant applications, use of funds, reporting, and claim processing requirements across CPS, ISBE, and District 187.
    • Develop and maintain grant reporting for Principals, CFO, and CEO to ensure LEARN secures 100% of all sources of public grant funding.
    Responsibilities :
    • Monitor and ensure compliance with all financial reporting requirements, deadlines and submissions set by all authorizers and State and Federal regulatory agencies.
    • Prepare and submit State and Federal program designs, grant applications, expenditure tracking ledgers and financial reimbursements within deadlines to all authorizers and governmental agencies.
    • Prepare and upload claims into the regulatory software systems. Assist in researching grant expenditures and scheduling meetings with Principals and other stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with Controller, Finance Manager, Principals and Senior Management to develop and monitor spending plans. Prepare monthly summary to CEO, Senior Management and Principals comparing budgeted local, state and federal funding versus spending to date. Work with Principals to identify opportunities for spending in a timely fashion.
    • Assist the Controller in completion of the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations and reclassification of grant fund codes.
    • Monitor and audit credit card reconciliations and supporting documents for campuses and for CMO.
    • Identify ways to improve processes and operations that result in superior customer service.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with compliance teams within all authorizers and other regulatory agencies.
    • Stay abreast of emerging Federal, State and Local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.
    • Performs other ad-hoc projects as assigned to support the Finance team.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance or Business Related Field.
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
    • Working knowledge of compliance and regulatory environment. Experience with state and federal per pupil reimbursement, a plus. Strong mathematical, analytical and technical skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • High-level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), a must. Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat including editing functions. Experience with Blackbaud's Financial Edge preferred but not required.
    • Strong organizational abilities with close attention to detail and precision.
    • Ability to keep information confidential.
    • Strong customer service focus, with an ability to interact congenially and effectively with a diverse network of employees, customers and vendors.
