Part-Time Position (.5333 FTE)

Position Summary: Prepares and processes vendor payments; processes and maintains District accounting records.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and
responsibilities.

Knowledge of:

• Accounts payable procedures.
• Modern office equipment including personal computers and accounting related software, 10-key calculator
• Filing and record keeping.

Ability to:

• Perform arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Operate a personal computer and related accounting software, spreadsheet applications, and digital file maintenance software.
• Maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and outside vendors.
• Maintain accurate and complete records and files.
• Assist vendors with queries related to payment of invoices.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities.

• High school diploma required.
• One-year prior accounts payable and/or accounting experience preferred.

Compensation: This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, with a salary of $24.45 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off.

Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
