E ssential Functions and Objectives:

S upports individual, team or department through practical application of knowledge, use of proven techniques, and adherence to procedures. Primary focus on execution of assigned tasks in a specific area of responsibility, with a non-technical scope and a high degree of customer service.

S upports the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical and daily living needs of middle and high school level students with disabilities in integrated, resource, self-contained and community settings.

- Assists in conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, recordkeeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities.

- Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained.

- May provide medically invasive (e.g. tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning) and daily living (e.g. toileting, diapering, feeding, personal hygiene) following universal precautions and as trained and directed.

- May assist with community support for various activities (job coaching, use of public transportation).

- May need to provide transportation assistance by driving an activity bus.

- Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and technique, according to District training.

- Assists and supports the development of lesson plans, and provide feedback to teacher(s)/supervisor(s) on individual students.

- Communicates and coordinates with students and parents (oral and written) about routine educational issues

K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Specialized training in invasive procedures, such as, tube feeding and catheterization will be provided, as assignment requires.

- Must pass District approved written and physical exams covering deescalation and physical restraint training, on an annual basis; Required training must be completed within 75 days of initial hire.

- If transporting students or using personal or company vehicle to conduct work duties, must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain a Colorado driver's license within the state's required time frame for new residents and meet the District's insurability requirements.

- Knowledge with Google Suite.

- Effective time management and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.

- The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance.

- Work collaboratively with others on a team.

- Ability to coordinate and work effectively with site staff, school and community, and diverse student population.

- Ability to plan and organize work, at times with interruptions.

- Ability to monitor and supervise assigned student activity for sustained periods of time to anticipate and maintain a safe environment.

E ducation Requirements:

- Must have a High School diploma/GED plus one of the following: Proof of passing the TABE D Adult Education Test for Reading and Math; minimum SAT scores (within the last 5 years) of 500 in Math and 470 in Reading; or transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours of undergraduate coursework from an accredited college or university.

- An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university satisfies minimum requirements above (Note: All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.)
