The ESSER and ARP ESSER Grants provide New Haven Public Schools with an opportunity to reimagine the educational experiences for our students, staff, and families. These funds are being utilized to accelerate learning, bolster family and community engagement, strengthen SEL supports, upgrade technology, implement professional learning opportunities, and ensure all of our students and staff are in safe and healthy buildings.

Job Description: ESSER Coach

Reports to: Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Leadership

Job Classification and Salary: Teacher Certification Required; Salary and Summer Stipend (Step Commensurate with experience and qualifications); Afterschool hours may be required at times.

Funding: Note that the position is funded through the ESSER II and ARP ESSER Grants, through the USDOE. While the grant includes work to ensure sustainability, the position cannot be guaranteed after the expiration of the grant and the employee will be reassigned to the classroom.

Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Master's Degree and at least five (5) years of successful experience in formal and/or informal leadership positions in a school system.

Our ideal candidate would have the following skills:
• Strong team mindset with a willingness to jump into any task;

• Work on projects well - often many at once;

• Identify and follow policies and procedures that need to be followed in the District, and possibly draft new ones;

• Organize and facilitate meetings as needed;

• Ensure strategies are compliant with ESSER II and ARP ESSER goals

• Provide guidance to school and departmental teams on the goals of the grants

• Be absolutely punctual in adhering to timelines and deadlines, working to ensure that meetings begin and end on time, and prioritizing matters that are time sensitive so to n allow for thoughtful input from stakeholders on the review of all work brought before them;

• Ability to take notes and disseminate information

• Draft various communication documents (memos, emails, newsletters); and

• Use technology, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new applications as they are developed and/or identified for use by the District.
