Chappaqua CSD is looking for a dynamic and innovative educator to serve in the position of Part-Time (.5) Speech/Language Pathologist (ANTICIPATED)

Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrate experience in utilizing research-based speech and language intervention strategies.
  • Experience working in a Life Skills class preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in special and general education, pedagogy, and assessment (including data analysis).
  • Able to administer, analyze and score standardized assessments to generate the necessary reports and recommendations.
  • Interprets assessment findings and conveys information to parents and school staff.
  • Provides mandated speech and language therapy for students as described on each student's IEP.
  • Able to develop and monitor IEP goals and objectives.
  • Serve as the Speech and Language Pathologist at CSE meetings for students, demonstrating a strong knowledge of the CSE process, referral and evaluation processes and IEP development.
  • Serves as resource to parents, school staff and administration.
  • Collaborates with community therapists and other healthcare providers for effective coordination of speech and language services.
  • Assesses the need for assistive technology and equipment and makes recommendations for home and school use, in collaboration with the team.
  • Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.

Certification/Experience:
  • NYS Speech and Language Disabilities Certification
  • Previous experience as an SLP preferred.
