DEFINITION: Build the capacity of the Family Resource Center team. Leads the Family Liaison program and supports the Family Resource Center Director with implementation and fidelity monitoring of Family Resource Center programs and strategic plan. Work with district teams and partners to support key district initiatives related to equity, family voice, wellness, and student services.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives direct supervision from the Program Manager of the Family Resource Center. Provides coaching and training to the Roaring Fork Schools middle school (MS) and high school (HS) family liaisons.

PRIMARY DUTIES Only minimum duties are listed. Other functions and duties may be required as given or assigned.

Family Liaison Program
  • Provide ongoing coaching and training of Family Liaisons with support from the Family Resource Center Director.

  • Provide onboarding support for new middle and high school liaisons.

  • Identify, develop, and implement a youth-centered wrap-around program.
  • Work with partners to identify a model for youth wrap-around (i.e., Youth Thrive)

  • Train middle and high school liaisons in the model

  • Support, and sustain youth wrap-around services in our middle and high schools

  • Work with district data analyst, MS and HS family liaisons, and EARSS grant coordinators to manage data on youth wrap-around interventions and outcomes.

  • Advocate for youth and families through collaboration with local agencies and coalitions. Work closely with MS and HS service providers, including Stepping Stones, YouthZone, AJUA, and PreCollegiate.

  • Collaborate with building staff, administrators, and other RFSD programs to coordinate student services.

  • Maintain an accountability system for data entered into Salesforce and EduClimber.

  • Maintain compliance with data requirements for the Family Resource Center Association, EARSS grant, and MTSS.

  • Provide Salesforce and EduClimber training to the staff of the Family Resource Center.

  • Build peer support programming for adolescents' families in partnership with middle and high school liaisons.

  • Work with school counselors and community partners to build peer support programming for youth involved in wrap-around services.

  • Maintain a caseload of adolescents and provide youth-centered wrap-around support services.

  • Maintain fidelity of Family Resource Center Family Liaison program by adhering to family support and development principles.


  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Knowledge of:
    • Adolescent development and wrap-around support services.

    • Roaring Fork School District student population

    • Working within an educational community with parents and staff

    • State and federal legislation regarding children, families, health and human services

    • Community programs and resources for families and students

    • Child Welfare practices

    • McKinney Vento rules and regulations

    • Principles of supervision and training and performance evaluations

    • English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

    • Modern office procedures and methods.

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.

    • Knowledge of database concepts

    • Principles and procedures of record keeping.

    • Principles of business and letter writing and basic report preparation.


    Ability to:
    • Work directly with adolescents to identify strengths and goals, build action plans, and support student success.

    • Coach and train staff

    • Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and

    • implement recommendations in support of goals

    • Monitor and track budget expenditures

    • Facilitate communication with Spanish-speaking families

    • Prepare clear and concise administrative and statistical reports

    • Develop, interpret and apply District policies and procedures.

    • Make public presentations

    • Recognize potentially hostile situations and diffuse situations appropriately.

    • Operate and use modern office equipment, including a computer and various software packages.

    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in both Spanish and English.

    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during work.


    EXPERIENCE & TRAINING GUIDELINES

    Experience:
    • Minimum of one year of experience in a coaching or mentor role at a non-profit organization.



    Training & Education
    • High School Diploma or equivalent

    • Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.

    • Licensed Addiction Counselor certification preferred

    • Over one year and up to and including three years of experience in special education, public health, supervision, family support services, and/or case management.


    License:
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado Drivers' License.


    WORKING CONDITIONS
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works inside. The noise level is usually moderate with many interruptions. Office environment; exposure to computer screens and use of a keyboard. Travels from site to site.


    Physical Conditions:
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Occasional lifting of 25 pounds or less.



    This position is funded by the Family Resource Center of the RFSD, an independent budget based on blended funding.

    Salary starts at $25/hour, depending on experience.

    Salary starts at $25 per hour/hour, depending on qualified experience

    Days worked: 206 days/year (with paid personal time, paid vacation days, and paid time off for holidays and district non-work days such as during winter break and spring breaks)

    This position will launch, expand, refine and support youth-centered wrap-around services in collaboration with our middle and high school family liaisons. We can support a rising human services professional but the position may also be of interest to school social workers, individuals with an MSW or LCSW, or those with experience in adolescent support and success services. Salary is based on experience.
