JOB DESCRIPTION

The diversity of the student population in Providence Public Schools is not reflected by the teachers who instruct them. "Research confirms that when taught by a teacher of color, students of color experience higher reading and math test scores, higher graduation rates, decreased dropout and discipline rates and increased enrollment in advanced courses (Carver-Thomas, 2018)".

The Diversity and Pipeline Design Specialist will work collaboratively with the Director of Diversity Recruitment and Pipeline Initiatives to enhance current pipeline and alternative certification work as well as develop additional pipelines for educators of color to enter the PPSD teaching profession. This role will not only focus on recruitment of individuals, there will be a heavy focus on the retention of our diverse taskforce.

***Accommodations for virtual interviews will be made during this hiring season, please apply***
