DISTRICT COMPUTER TECHNICIAN
Hiring Pay Range: $18.84 - $20.00
FTE: 1.0 40 hours per week
12 months, 261 paid workdays per year

Definition: Under the direction of the Director of Educational Technology, maintain and support district and school technology systems, and computer hardware and software.

Essential Functions: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills and other characteristics. Tasks:
  • Install, maintain, and repair computer system hardware, peripherals, and software.
  • Troubleshoot technological issues and coordinate hardware, software, and/or network solutions.
  • Serve as a resource for and provide technical assistance to district wide site technicians.
  • Serve as primary technical support for Valley View Early Learning Center and Professional Learning Center.
  • Temporarily support vacant site technician positions at the school sites, as needed.
  • Diagnose, investigate, and resolve complex technical support issues pertaining to software and computer equipment.
  • Process and ensure timely completion of endpoint repairs.
  • Maintain and update inventory of technology equipment.
  • Maintain UPS battery backups.
  • Participate in the review, evaluation, and recommendation of solutions relating to hardware and software acquisitions, and/or network updates, as needed.
  • Serve as a back-up for governing board meetings, as needed.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, administrators, students, and the public.
  • Assist in upholding and enforcing district and school rules, administrative regulations, and Governing Board Policy.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:
  • Knowledge of current developments and trends in enterprise technology.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer problems.
  • Knowledge of MacOS/Windows compatible computers, peripherals, parts, and supplies.
  • Knowledge of computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Knowledge of computer network administration.
  • Skill in communicating technical information effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, and flexible.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma and one (1) year of experience maintaining multiple endpoints in a network environment. Experience with Google Admin, macOS, and Jamf.

Special Requirements:
Jamf 200 or A+ certifications preferred
