Provides support for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) program for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to include processing, documentation, and redaction of content; tracks and processes all requests and responses to ensure accuracy and timeliness; ensures all educational records requests are addressed in accordance with FERPA; coordinates requests with FCPS staff, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for processing improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
- Two (2) years of progressively more responsible experience related to data collection and reporting and/or data management.
- Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws such as the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (VFOIA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment.
- Knowledge of the application of privacy laws in the practice of redacting records.
- Skill in writing, editing, and research with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the use of technology, data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to apply analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadline requirements.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Bachelor's in communications
- Skill in eDiscovery, Logikcull, Google Vault, and document sharing applications
