Position Summary
  • Greenwich CT Public Schools is seeking a certified 1.0 Spanish teacher who will be responsible for teaching Spanish to elementary school students at Old Greenwich & New Lebanon Elementary School
  • Fluency in English and oral/written Spanish required
  • Professional experience in Spanish instruction at the elementary level preferred
  • Experience using technology (e.g. google classroom, Google meets, Nearpod) to teach students is helpful

Responsibilities
  • Focus on helping students in grades K - 5 develop their oral and literacy skills aligned to the World Readiness Standards for Learning Languages
  • Work collaboratively with WL program-based colleagues to support students' linguistic needs in Spanish
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning
  • Modify where appropriate instructional methods and strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Use technology to deliver instruction and assessment where appropriate
  • Evaluate student performance consistently
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress

WorkYear and Compensation

Work year is 187 days, salary based on the appropriate GEA salary level.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from accredited college or university.
  • CT certification in World Language K - 12 (Spanish) or K - 6 elementary
  • Ability to personalize learning in a blended learning environment
  • Knowledge of best practices in World Language instruction
  • Strong communication skills
