E ssential Functions and Objectives:

This role will support Portfolio's Mission and Vision by leading the District's school improvement and universal support for the districts portfolio and innovation zone schools. . This includes leading the development, implementation, and refinement of Portfolio Management support systems, processes, and protocols in order to improve student outcomes, including charter and innovation renewal and the School Performance Compact. Drives the delivery of high-quality, streamlined schools support services and strategies to address school needs and issues that arise.

- S upport the development of recommendations for the superintendent and the DPS Board of Education to approve or deny new district-run and charter schools, based on quality standards, Board policy, State statute and community input.

- Collaborate with various departments to development recommendations for the superintendent and the DPS Board of Education to approve or deny applications from innovation schools and innovation zones, and for innovation zone expansion in DPS, based on quality standards, Board policy and State statute.

- L ead the development, implementation and refinement of Portfolio Management support systems, processes, and protocols in order to improve student outcomes, including charter and innovation strategic planning and the School Performance Compact

- A bility to effectively lead teams.

- A bility to develop, plan, and implement long-range goals, establish priorities, and organize resources.

- D emonstrated experience performing as an effective leader and team player, and recognizing and resolving conflicts or potentially controversial situations through diplomacy.

- S trong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead effectively across departments and systems.

- S trong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals at all different levels in the organization.

- F ocuses function on strategic goals.

- E ncourages diversity and mutual respect among team members and demonstrates compassion and sensitivity.

-I n-depth knowledge of instruction, standards-based education, and leadership, preferred.

-A bility to inspire others and communicate persuasively and diplomatically with effective oral, written and presentation skills, preferred.

K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- 5 years of experience in leadership roles in the context of public education.

E ducation Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field is required.

- Master's Degree is preferred.
