Position Overview:
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Human Resources administers all Human Resources operations and serves as advisor to the CEO/Superintendent in all matters pertaining to staff relations, labor management, and collective bargaining. This role supervises four functions: HR Operations, Payroll, Health Services, and Reception.

Salary: Minimum $104,000 DOE

Education Level: Advanced degree in one of the following areas: educational administration, human resources management, law, or industrial relations preferred. Will consider BA degree with eight or more years' experience and leadership in related field.

Other Requirements: Experience in human relations, leadership, management, and marketing. Prefer background in contract negotiations process. Demonstrated and effective leadership, management, organization, and project management skills. Demonstrated ability to create, enhance, and sustain relationships with internal and community stakeholders. History of working effectively with multiple stakeholder groups and persons of varying ethnic, race and economic cultures. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with all District constituents to build strong working relationships, resolve conflicts, and interview and counsel employees. Ability to develop and implement employee performance evaluation systems. Knowledge and understanding of laws, rules and regulations affecting public sector
employment and school districts.

Core Benefits --- Qualifying employees are eligible to enroll in the group medical and dental plans. Health coverage is provided through Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Delta Dental is the District's carrier for dental insurance. The District also supports healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts (FSA) through Health Equity/WageWorks. Life Insurance is provided at no cost to the employee through the Standard, with $10,000 in basic life coverage and $20,000 for instances of accidental death and dismemberment for the employee as well as $2,000 in basic life for spouses and $1,000 basic life for dependent children up to age 26.

Retirement --- The school district offers an outstanding retirement package through South Dakota Retirement Services (SDRS). In response to the mandatory 6% employee contribution, qualifying employees will receive an additional 6% of their wage contributed to a retirement account on their behalf each pay-date. Additionally, employees are automatically enrolled in the SDRS Supplemental Plan 457B and may contribute pre or post tax dollars to retirement.
