    Position Summary:

    The Procurement Manager is responsible for organizing and managing the purchasing functions of Archdiocese of Chicago to deliver the highest quality products and services at the best price for its parishes, schools, administrative offices, and agencies.

    Responsibilities:
    • Serve as main point of contact and relationship manager between the Archdiocese and its suppliers.
    • ?Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements and associated budget.
    • Lead all aspects of contract management including administration, contract review, contract management, file administration, evaluation, analysis, and negotiations.
    • Negotiate contracts, terms, and deadlines with suppliers.
    • Evaluate vendors to ensure their pattern of performance is aligned with the established purchase order or contract specifications.
    • Develop and implement purchase and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
    • Review and maintain purchasing files (purchase orders, contracts, etc.) and records to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and document access.
    • Monitor internal procurement systems and processes and ensure that compliance is achieved across the organization.
    • Identify opportunities (e.g. master agreements, approved vendor pools, etc.) to provide better pricing, quality, and service to the Archdiocese.
    • Conduct cost analyses; create and implement plans for improvement.
    • Special projects and/or other duties as assigned.


    ?Requirements:
    • Extensive experience working in the procurement department for a decentralized organization with numerous locations
    • ?Master's degree in purchasing management preferred
    • Strong understanding of procurement and negotiation techniques; demonstrated success in negotiating mid-to-high-dollar value contracts.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to organize, prioritize, self-motivate, and deliver results
    • Ability to set appropriate limits, work under pressure/deadlines, and multi-task
    • Strong sense of ownership and urgency
