    Duties
  • Manage a comprehensive emergency management program - planning functional requirements, setting program priorities and providing advice, counsel and instruction for assigned functions.
  • Determine and manage assigned project budgets and schedules, to include contracting requirements, ensuring emergency management programs are sufficiently resourced.
  • Establish milestones and deadlines for completion of assignments, projects and tasks, for all team members.
  • Adjust emergency management priorities to accomplish the workload and to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Develop an annual, comprehensive emergency management plan for program sustainment and new program development and implementation.
  • Determine applicability of guidance to the organizations mission in conjunction with local requirements.
  • Execute responsibilities for emergency response to disasters and national security emergencies.
  • Manage the development of organizational crisis management plans in coordination with installations to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from a crisis event.

    In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

    Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: managing an emergency management program, to include policy requirements, resourcing, and program oversight; collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to plan and manage emergency program functions; developing an annual emergency management program plan that establishes annual program objectives, priorities and resourcing requirements; managing a mass notification system; developing annual training and exercise plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12
