Lake Forest Elementary School District 67 is seeking a 10-month, full-time Administrative Assistant at Deer Path Middle School.
Description: The assistant is responsible for the smooth and efficient operation of the school office and demonstrates excellent organization, strong computer skills, and clear, concise communication. The school secretary is a key point of contact for the school and interacts positively with parents, staff, and students.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs the usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly run office as defined by the principal.
- Maintains such student records as shall be required.
- Receives and routes all telephone calls and records messages.
- Maintains a daily teacher attendance log, and the concomitant records
- Assists teachers in preparing instructional materials as requested.
- Maintains a log of visitors to the school.
- Maintain supply of necessary lunch forms.
- Prepare daily teacher's lunch form.
- Collect, record, total, and call-in student daily lunch count.
- All responsibilities pertaining to lunch coupons, lunch count forms, and the distribution of lunch menus.
- Verify absent students called in daily.
- Verify student tardiest and early dismissals as necessary.
- Prepare a weekly absence form at the end of each week.
- Keep a thorough record and notify the building principal of possible truancies.
- Friendly, cooperative, collaborative, and helpful attitude, demeanor, and behavior toward all staff and colleagues of the school.

- School year report forms as designated
- Prepare, organize, edit, run, and distribute the school newsletter on a weekly basis.
- Any/All other duties/responsibilities as delegated/directed by the superintendent and/or principal.
- High School Diploma
- A reasonable degree of proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets.
- Experience with Google Docs and Google work environment
- Familiarity with data bases and data entry.
- Previous work in schools preferred, but not required.
