None POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the building Principal and the Dyslexia Specialist, the Dyslexia Interventionist will provide dyslexia therapy for students who meet eligibility guidelines. To provide intensive academic instruction for students with reading difficulties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Competency Statement(s)
Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception) ? Visual ability to read handwritten or typed documents, and the display screen of various office equipment and machines ? Able to conduct verbal conversation in English ? Able to hear normal range verbal conversation (approximately 60 decibels) ? Able to sit (for sustained period of time), stand, stoop, kneel, bend, lift (25 pounds), carry (25 pounds), and walk ? Able to climb slopes, stairs, steps, ramps and ladders
Sense of Sound (Ability to conduct telephone conversations.)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job has minimal exposure to environmental conditions. Noise level can range from quiet to moderate to noisy, depending on the setting. This job involves interaction with students in a classroom setting, as well as school staff and parents/guardians in a professional setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Experience teaching reading
- Understanding of the foundational reading components and how to teach them.
- Phonological and Phonemic Awareness
- Sound Symbol Recognition
- Alphabet knowledge
- Decoding Skills
- Rapid Naming Skills
- Encoding
- Experience in Data Collecting and Analyzing
- Trained and/or certified in the Dyslexia Program(s) used in the district
Experience in Intervention
- Knowledge of RTI Process
- Implement the district dyslexia program at the campus level ensuring that Federal, State and District policies/guidelines are followed and in compliance
- R.I.S.E. trained
- Provide direct services in the area of reading/dyslexia/dysgraphia: assessment, identification, interventions, technology and progress monitoring
- Implement the district's response to Intervention Model specific to students identified as Tier III
- Maintain all necessary student records required by the dyslexia program
- Main purpose is to provide dyslexia services using the approved dyslexia program to all students who qualify
- Follow each program's guidelines to implement with fidelity
- Maintain all paperwork, data management, folders, progress monitoring required
- Frequently communicate with parents on student progress
- When not providing direct dyslexia services to students:
- Serve on the RTI committee for each school in order to help analyze results of screeners/testing
- Provide small group intervention
- Lesson Plans will be sent to the District Dyslexia Specialist weekly
- Update Principal and District Dyslexia Specialist in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned

Experience:
Minimum of 3 Years of Teaching Experience Ability to navigate Google docs, Google maps, Google forms and other technologies necessary to derive student achievement data in order to drive decision-making. A valid Arkansas Teacher's License with certification for subject and level assigned
