Minimum Qualifications : Current Connecticut Secondary Certification (Grades 7-12), any content area, required
High school teaching experience, preferred
Responsible to: Building Administrator
Description : The Mastery Based Diploma Assessment [MBDA] Competencies classroom teacher is responsible for monitoring and supervising student work and portfolio development that demonstrates mastery of the competencies outlined in our Portrait of the Graduate. The teacher is responsible for cultivating necessary 21 st Century skills through student reflection, tasks, and projects that determine mastery as determined by the MBDA standards-based rubric.

- Monitor student development and progress toward mastery of the competencies
- Review student reflections to gauge student self-assessment of their growth over time
- Develop a flexible, portfolio-based approach that targets specific skill development and enhances student performance
- Communicate with students, parents, and administrators
