The Vanguard School has an opening for a Special Education/Computer Teacher to develop appropriate computer instruction for our elementary students through planning and implementing appropriate lessons for 11 to 12 classes with 5 to 8 students in each class. You'll determine and monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and teach a daily reading class. Classroom Aides and 1:1 Aides will provide support during class time. In addition, we provide training in managing student behaviors, implementing positive behavior support strategies, and other professional development topics.

Work Hours:
7:45AM to 3:30PM, Monday to Friday
Start Date:
August 24, 2022
Salary:
♦ Beginning at $43,500 for recent grads
♦ Starting salary is higher for applicants with special ed teaching experience
♦ Additional pay can be earned working any of our summer programs (ESY, Camp, Beach Week)
Benefits: ♦ Paid health and dental insurance (single coverage)
♦ Paid sick days (10) & personal days (4)
♦ 9% employer contribution to our Retirement Plan
♦ College tuition reimbursement
♦ Professional development including annual safety care training
Requirements:
♦ Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, or a related field.
♦ Current, valid Pennsylvania certification in Special Education. Technology certification is a plus!
♦ Exposure to and participation in a special education setting and knowledge of classroom management techniques.
♦ Ability to recognize the individuality and uniqueness of each student & treat him/her with respect & dignity.
♦ Ability to successfully complete behavior management training and provide crisis intervention as needed
♦ 3 background clearances dated within the past 12 months
