TITLE: Crossing Guard

QUALIFICATION:

1. Good physical condition, including sight and hearing
2. Mental alertness
3. Neat appearance
4. Good character
5. Dependable
6. Sense of responsibility for safety of children

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager or designee

JOB GOAL: To provide a safe environment for students walking to and from school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Crossing guards must be uniformed so that motorists and pedestrians can recognize them and respond to their signals
2. Crossing guards should pick opportune times to create a safe gap for crossing pedestrians
3. Crossing guards must use an 18" STOP sign paddle that has "STOP" on both sides
4. Crossing guards must cross students in pedestrian crosswalks
