Qualifications:
- Massachusetts licensure as a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL)
- Bachelor's degree required preferred.
- Experience working with English Language Learner (EL) students in the elementary and/or secondary setting.
- Ability to make connections with students of all motivational levels.
- Ability to provide focused small and large group instruction.
- Ability to plan and implement engaging instruction.
- Such other alternatives as the Superintendent of Schools may deem acceptable and appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Plan curriculum with English Language Development Department Head and Director of Teaching & Learning.
- Plan and implement daily lesson plans with colleagues.
- Organize objectives and materials.
- Deliver both small and large group instruction as specified by program plan.
- Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues and school officials.
- Maintain record of student attendance and participation.
Work Schedule:
- July: Team 4 hours of prep time before program to ensure fulfillment of outlined responsibilities.
- Grades 1-6: August 2-18, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am - 12pm plus one hour prep each day
- Grade 7-8: August 2-18, online 3 hours/week plus 1 hour prep each week
