Description of Service Opportunity:

The Freshman Academy Summer Site Principal, under the direction of the CRLS Principal and Leadership Team and in collaboration with school-based teachers, will be responsible for developing and overseeing a program that will support incoming Freshmen students to strengthen their learning during a four-week summer learning period (July 4 -July 29th). The site coordinator will be responsible for the direct supervision of staff, including weekly group/staff check in and one-to-one support as needed.
The Site Principal will work with classroom teachers and appropriate support staff (i.e. content area teachers, counselors) and Upper School/CRLS family liaisons to encourage students to participate in the hybrid programming. During the program, the Principal will lead ongoing communication with families, with the support of the school administrator.
Prior to the start of the Freshman Academy learning period, the Principal will work with the CRLS Principal and Leadership Team to develop student schedules and teacher assignments. The Principal will also orient summer teaching staff to program resources currently available and developed by district curriculum coordinators, in accordance with prerequisite standards as outlined by DESE. Social skills instruction will be based on SEL curriculum ideas aligned with the Community Meeting model embedded within each Learning Community.
During the program, the Principal will support staff in addressing day to day needs including support staff in addressing student behavioral issues and engagement.
The Principal will maintain all records, including daily student attendance and follow up as needed; keep accurate time sheets; and produce payment vouchers.

Minimum Requirements/Job Qualifications:

Masters Degree and experience working with high school students in academic support/youth development settings.

Contract Dates:
July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023

Contract Amount:
$41.00 per hour, Not to exceed 40 Hours or $10,250.00
