21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) (Yaakoosge Daakahidi)

Part Time Position: .8667 FTE

Position Summary: Under the supervision the the 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Grant Supervisor, this position manages the grant-funded afterschool program and summer school program at Yaakoosge Daakahidi High School. The Connect! programming schedule begins in early September and runs until early May. The Connect! program also consists of a 4 week summer school program. This position follows the JESS 10-month calendar with a two-week later start to accommodate a 2 week extension until the end of June, in order to implement summer school for the month of June.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be:
  • High School Diploma
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Alaska drivers license required.
  • CPR, first aid

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of 21st Century Community Learning Centers policy and procedure.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Prior paid experience in working with high school students.
  • Prior Experience in after school or summer program management and coordination

KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Regulatory and subsidy requirements as they affect 21st CCLC.
  • Principles and practices of school operations.
  • Personal computers and related software.
  • School district policy.
  • Child behavior management.
  • Principles of supervision.
  • Prior paid experience in working with students preferred.

ABILITY TO:
  • Provide technical leadership in onsite program operations.
  • Build program schedules.
  • Establish and work within a budget.
  • Plan snack menus.
  • Procure program supplies and materials.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce discipline strategies.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Operate a personal computer and related software.
  • Review position applications and recommend staff for hire.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other people.
  • Coordinate family and community volunteers and develop community connections to enhance programming

Compensation: This is a part-time 10-month position, working 32.5 hours per week, with a starting salary of $28.18 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off.

Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
