12-MONTH MAIN OFFICE SECRETARY/BOOKKEEPER
CHESHIRE HIGH SCHOOL
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Performs administrative assistance of a confidential and responsible nature as instructed by the principal or their designee, and the district operations office.
GENERAL DUTIES:
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining the collection, accounting, depositing, and withdrawal system for student activity funds and executing budgeted purchase orders for all financial accounts at Cheshire High School; performing calculation, posting, and verifying duties for all school accounts; processing checks and check receipts and making deposits; reconciling bank statements for all funds; regularly advising and informing club advisors, department leaders, and administration of the status of any/all accounts; answering phone calls and providing information and assistance to staff members, parents, and others as needed or refer the caller to the appropriate staff member; performing all other duties as required by the principal and/or administrative team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of two years bookkeeping experience, strong office/secretarial and communication skills. The ability to use electronic accounting systems with speed and accuracy, familiarity with Munis, MySchoolBucks, and PowerSchool a plus. The ability to carry out duties with a high degree of independence and fidelity. Strong knowledge of: bookkeeping and financial record keeping; knowledge of accounting procedures and terminology. The ability to work as a team player when needed. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to relate professionally and positively with all staff members, parents, students, and the general public.
SUPERVISED BY: School Principal or his/her designee.
SALARY: In accordance with the Agreement Between the Cheshire Board of Education and the Cheshire Educational Secretaries and Technicians United. Grade 4 Starting Salary $27.57/Hour.
