    Job Title: Special Education Resource Teacher- Lincoln Elementary 2 positions available
    Reports To: Building Principal
    FLSA Status: Exempt
    Salary Range: $46,500-$59,500

    SUMMARY:
    Responsible for planning instruction and/or adoption of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and students.
    • Provides a basic core program of mentally impaired students.
    • Counsels individuals and groups of emotionally impaired students with educational, occupational and personal needs.
    • Plans curriculum, lessons, and special Education programs and teaching methods.
    • Evaluates student progress based on papers submitted, test scores and observations.
    • Maintains physical environment of the classroom.
    • Maintains contact with parents of students.
    • Works with staff to coordinate goals and objectives.
    • Assists the student in making a realistic assessment of is abilities and in establishing educational goals keeping with these abilities.
    • Assists in screening, evaluating and recommending placements of students.
    • Evaluates student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives and directions.
    • Prepares report cards, reading records, IPEC forms, classroom observation records, and other misc. survey and forms.
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:
    Supervises students, and directs paraprofessionals.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
    Bachelor's degree in education.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
    Current Professional Educator License and appropriate content area endorsements.
    LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general periodicals, professional journals, medical reports, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, parents, administration and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratio, and proportions to situations.

    REASONING ABILITY:
    Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education policies of evaluation for certified personnel/
    Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
