Teaching Assistant At BuffSci we are committed to the growth and development of our teachers, who receive feedback and professional development opportunities to sharpen their skills. Support teachers are responsible for the intellectual preparation for lessons, building strong relationships with students and families, supporting in strong classroom management, using data to drive instruction, and actively collaborating with their lead teacher. Our goal is for our support teachers to grow into our lead classroom teachers.
Job Expectations

• Reinforce a disciplined culture of high academic and behavioral standards through strong classroom management
• Provide students with frequent and accurate behavioral feedback
• Work professionally with the assigned Lead Teacher
• Assist with differentiated instruction/Small Group Pull-Outs
• Be flexible and have strong communication skills

• Communicate frequently with families
• Complete all co-teaching duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Must be a certified teaching assistant
• Unwaveringly high expectations for all students, with the belief that every child should have access to a college education
• Commitment to upholding and executing BuffSci's mission and educational model
• Experience working with students in an urban setting, or a passion to pursue this work
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with diverse audiences including students, staff members, families, and community member
