Talent Manager
Unaffiliated - 12 months (40 Hours per week)
Salary $75,000

Under general supervision performs professional work of considerable difficulty overseeing a
range of administrative functions related to human resource management and employee
recruitment and retention. Assists employees and supervisors with all human resource needs and
performs related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Develop, facilitate and implement all phases of the recruitment of certified staff.
  2. Identify and implement effective recruiting methods and strategies.
  3. Assist with planning and overseeing recruitment events.
  4. Assist in the interview, placement and assignment of certified staff to include interns and student teachers.
  5. Ensure postings of current and new positions are done in a timely fashion both internally and externally as needed.
  6. Assist with ensuring all new hires and other personnel paperwork is completed accurately and disseminated to appropriate parties and appropriate departments.
  7. Follow new hire protocol, as set forth by the Bridgeport Public Schools HR Department, Connecticut State Department of Education and other appropriate State of Federal regulations.
  8. Assist in the development of retention plans.
  9. Assist in coordination of HR initiated meetings as directed.
  10. Assist with processing and managing appropriate incoming calls, mail, information, and correspondence.
  11. Prepare correspondence, memos, reports, and agenda materials, etc. as requested.
  12. Maintain HR database of staff employment and demographic information in an accurate and timely fashion and develop personnel reports for submission to the department administrator for review and inclusion in the Board of Education agenda/packets when needed or requested.
  13. Maintain current and up-to-date folders of departmental forms, form letters, memos, et al on HR shared drive for easy access by all department staff.
  14. Maintain high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information regarding current and prospective employees.
  15. The above does not include all tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Director/Assistant Director of Human Resources or the Superintendent of Schools.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR Administration, HR Management, Business Administration or Communications required. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Proven work experience as a job recruiter.
  • Prior experience in human resources management and experience in HRIS computer applications (data base management) required.
  • Ability to conduct structured interviews.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, positive and effective manner.
  • Ability to work in a team centered environment.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent Excel, Power Point, and Word skills.
