  • PROJECT ASSISTANT- FOOD SERVICE
    REPORTS TO: Food Service Coordinator
    Terms of Employment: 240 Day Employment
    Salary: $29,664

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Performs as Administrative Assistant to the Food Service Director.
    • Greets all visitors courteously.
    • Operates all office machines including work processor/computer and copier.
    • Composes and prepares correspondence.
    • Classifies, sort and file correspondence or other data and maintain all files. Duplicates and photocopies forms and reports for each cafeteria.
    • Types all purchase orders and maintain an up-to-date purchase order file. Processes and submits invoices for payment on a regular basis.
    • Posts all school receipts and keep and accurate account of monies received. Compiles receipts and submits monthly closeouts.
    • Balances monthly statements.
    • Prepares a monthly financial report for Food Service Director. Assists with the preparation of all USDA reimbursement reports.
    • Enters food items and student information into the computer. Receives and place calls and records all messages.
    • Keeps records for all workshops attended by Division of Food Service Staff. Maintains confidentiality of all confidential material.
    • Processes lunch applications and maintain an up-to-date file on each student.
    • Orders, processes and maintains office supplies and equipment for Food Service.
    • Prepares requisitions and work orders as needed. Participates in in-services training as required.
    • Maintains general information and knowledge of school district operations.
    • Fills in for cashiers as needed,
    • Conducts training for cashiers.
    • Installs/sets-up new equipment when necessary.
    • Completes upgrades as needed for breakfast and lunch.
    • Coordinates with technology for system imports and exports.
    • Such other duties as the Food Service Director and Superintendent may deem necessary and appropriate.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School diploma
    • Demonstrates competence in the use of business machines and computers
    • Reasonable degree of proficiency in typing, bookkeeping and
    • mathematics
    • Successful employment in a secretarial or clerical position within the
    • district or similar position in another institution
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

    EVALUATION:
    Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Food Service Director in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of District Office Staff Personnel.
