ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF SPECIAL EDUCATION
FTE: FULL-TIME
Location: CENTRAL OFFICE
Reports to: DIRECTOR OF SPECIAL EDUCATION

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma plus additional broad specialized training equal to two years of college
  • Three or more years of experience as an administrative assistant (PREFERRED)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of word processing, database and Google applications
  • Familiarity with PowerSchool and Frontline/eSped (PREFERRED)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse public


  • Responsibilities:

  • Performs diversified secretarial and clerical duties to assist the Department of Special Education
  • Maintains account spreadsheets for tracking and budgeting purposes
  • Purchase Order Processing - maintain records and follow-up with vendors and accounts payable as necessary
  • Invoice Processing - process,verify and submit all invoices
  • Ordering and Inventory-maintain inventory and oversee the ordering of protocols, instructional and office supplies.
  • Summer School Process - track and process student recommendations for summer services
  • Assist in maintaining all student records
  • Miscellaneous projects as needed; Circuit Breaker, Medicaid Reporting,Out-placement Attendance, etc.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education


  • Terms of Employment/Work Year):
    Twelve months per year; salary
