As the Assistant Education Director you will assist the Education Director in developing educational andcareer /transition planning of students and the professional development of teachers by developing and implementing policies, programs and curriculum plans; provide a safe and healthy environment conducive to learning.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children's Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), residential treatment (RTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.

Devereux is committed to the health and safety of our staff. All Devereux centers have formal infectious-disease and emergency-management plans tailored to specifically address the unique aspects of communicable disease prevention including COVID-19.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires staff without an approved medical or religious exemption to be fully vaccinated to be employed in this program. If you are fully vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or have an approved medical or religious exemption prior to starting.

Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Related Field required; PDE K-12 principal and/or supervisor

of special education certificate OR PDE adminstrative certification OR enrollment in supervisory certification program required.

EXPERIENCE: Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing

platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position). Strong organizational

skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks

simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines. Valid driver's license must be maintained.
