Long-Term Substitute Teacher - Secondary Math

(Begin Aug. 29, 2022 - Ending TBD)

Job Goal: To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.

Key Duties Include:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate effective classroom instruction consistent with building and district curriculum/programs
• Participate in team planning, programming, and instructional activities focused on improving instructional practices and student learning
• Provide appropriate preparation for state-mandated testing
• Utilize district and state assessments and standards in developing curriculum
• Recognize individual students' needs and provide appropriate strategies and interventions
• Foster and maintain a safe, positive learning environment
• Cooperate with building principal and staff in implementation of comprehensive instructional and activities programs
• Develop instructional goals and objectives to meet teaching assignment
• Prepare teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress
• Communicate effectively with parents and the school community
• Participate in building and district In-service education/training programs
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate, with proper endorsement(s) -Provided with application
• Highly qualified status in assigned area(s) -Provided with application
• Washington State Background Check
• Fingerprint Check
• Under the Governor's Proclamation 21-14.1, if offered the position, the applicant must either provide proof of full vaccination agains Covid-19 or qualify for a District granted bona fide disability or religious based reasonable accommodation as a condition of employment
• Must comply with District rules and regulations

• Ability to maintain high ethical standards
• Ability to use computer and other educational applications of technology to support students
• Ability to supervise/coach extra-curricular activities

Terms Of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by contract.

Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel and contract.
