Description of Service Opportunity:
The Title I Summer Literacy Camp Coordinator/Teacher, under the direction of the Title I Coordinator and School Principal, will be responsible for developing and overseeing a program that will help selected students from Cambridge become successful learners during the three week Summer Learning Camp period (August 8-August 26). Cambridge students attending St. Peter School are eligible. The Coordinator/Teacher will work with classroom teachers to recruit students to participate in the Title I Learning Camp prior to the beginning of the Camp and be responsible for obtaining all the necessary paperwork.
The Title I Summer Learning Camp Coordinator/Teacher will attend planning meetings, help identify and recruit teachers and teach students during the summer session. The Title I Summer Learning Camp Coordinator/Teacher must maintain all records, and work with team members to coordinate at least one parent event. The Title I Summer Learning Camp Coordinator/Teacher will work 4 hours each day during the 15 days for a total of 60 hours. Additional ten hours for recruitment and five hours for pre-camp planning for a total of 75 hours.
Minimum Requirement/Job Qualifications:
The Title I Summer Learning Camp Coordinator/Teacher must have the ability to teach students of diverse learning styles and grade levels; willingness to develop appropriate supplementary learning activities; ability to maintain proper records and communicate with families. Appropriate certification and highly qualified status under NCLB regulations necessary. Preference will be given to regularly appointed teacher from the Cambridge Public School District.
Contract Dates:
July 1, 2022 through August 26, 2022
Contract Amount:
$36.00 per hour, Not to exceed $2,340.00
