    Salary Range: $113,504 - $158,905

    Qualifications
    1. Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university.
    2. Master's degree in educational leadership, educational supervision, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
    3. Five (5) years or more progressive academic experience as a teacher and school administrator, inclusive of a successful experience as a high school principal.
    4. Demonstrated results improving academic outcomes for students through the effective leadership of teams and individuals, managing change, and initiating key learning improvements.
    5. Hold or be able to obtain a Pennsylvania driver's license and an principal license.
    6. Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
    7. Such additional modification or alternatives to the above qualifications as the board or superintendent may determine appropriate and acceptable.

    Summary The Executive Director for High Schools provides leadership and support to assigned high schools, to build the capacity of principals, and support the improvement of the conditions of teaching and learning in classrooms. The Executive Director for High Schools will make decisions to support day-to-day academic and operational decision making in schools and be responsible for ensuring the district's mission and goals are achieved across high schools in the district. Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure consistency of practice and equitable use of resources. Under the supervision of the Deputy Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer, the Executive Director for High Schools will ensure the creation, implementation, and monitoring of assigned high school strategic and school improvement plans in alignment with the district's mission, vision, and strategic plan; optimize resources for assigned high school communities to achieve the district's mission, vision, and strategic plan; supervise, coach, and mentor principals of assigned high schools; communicating policies, practices, procedures and other relevant information to the leadership assigned of high schools; provide effective crisis and issue management consultation; provide effective problem solving consultation; and ensuring effective plans for and implementation of professional development for staff in assigned high schools. The Executive Director for High Schools serves as a liaison to the Board of Education, community groups, parents, departments, schools, and the Board's Education Committee. The Executive Director for High Schools collaborates to research, communicate, and implement short-term and long-term educational planning.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Serve as a thought partner and counsel to the Deputy Superintendent/Chief Academic Officer and Superintendent as a member of the Department of Whole Student Learning and the Superintendent's Executive Leadership Team, regarding the district's high schools.
    2. Coach, mentor, advise, and support high principals in goal setting, planning, development, implementation, and monitoring of action plans that will guide them to meet their instructional leadership objectives and for their schools to meet performance targets.
    3. Plan and lead high quality and relevant learning experiences for high school principals to guide the implementation of effective instructional programs.
    4. Conduct regular informal classroom walk-throughs to provide feedback on successful instructional leadership practices, such as effective management of instructional staff, analysis of data, delivery of classroom instruction, classroom management, use of data, and establishment of school culture.
    5. Attend school meetings and events to foster a culture of engagement with staff, families, and community.
    6. Build the instructional leadership capacity of principals with particular focus on instruction, data analysis, aligned interventions, community, culture, equitable student outcomes, and equitable allocation of resources.
    7. Create a culture of inquiry, mutual accountability, problem solving, and creativity among the high school principals.
    8. Visit schools on a regular basis to monitor day-to-day operations, instructional practices, and school culture.
    9. Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
    10. Ensure that the school's data and evidenced based best practices support the continuous improvement and school improvement plans of assigned schools.
    11. Collaborate with the Office of Curriculum and Educator Supports and the Office of Student and School Supports, Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to ensure alignment of activities related to equitable student learning, equitable allocation of resources, and team competencies across East Division schools.
    12. Collaborate with District departments and offices to ensure optimal and equitable resources are available to support assigned high schools.
    13. Collaborate with the high school principals to oversee the development of school budgets.
    14. Review and approve site-based professional learning plans for assigned high schools.
    15. Ensure integration and use of technology by assigned high schools.
    16. Interpret District policies and regulations for the school leaders.
    17. Evaluate the performance of principals in assigned high schools and use the results to improve their leadership capacity, instructional support effectiveness, and development of positive school cultures.
    18. Collaborate with high school principals with the process of screening school administrative applicants, identifying interview panel members, conducting interviews with selected applicants, and making candidate recommendations.
    19. Investigate and respond to parent and stakeholder concerns involving assigned high schools.
    20. Allocate school positions based on guidelines, ratios, and formulas for high schools in collaboration with the Office of Talent and Team experience based on data and evidenced best practices.
    21. Monitor class size ratios and monitor the school ratios for assigned high schools.
    22. Collaborate with the school principals to develop, monitor, and oversee school budgets.
    23. Collaborate with the school principals to develop, monitor, and oversee school grant budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director of Grants and Advancement.
    24. Plan, coordinate, and implement professional development activities for high school principals and assistant principals.
    25. Monitor and approve leave requests from principals of assigned schools and approve in city and out-of-city travel expenses for payment.
    26. Assist in revising/updating school district policies, regulations, procedures, and practices related to high schools.
    27. Provide information as requested for state reports.
    28. Perform other duties as assigned.
