    SUMMARY As the STOMP Reading Intervention Coordinator you will organize and manage reading volunteers as a part of the Dupont's parent to paraprofessional program. You will train reading volunteers to conduct literacy intervention through small group reading instruction at the strategic level of intervention as a supplement to core instruction. If there are no volunteers, you would continue to pull groups for reading intervention.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
    • Provide explicit and systematic instruction to improve students' specific skills, strategies, and concept development.
    • Organize or develop Tiered interventions for students in reading.
    • Assist in screening, diagnostic, and progress monitoring assessments using DIBELS Next/IDEL and/or STAR Assessment.
    • Assist in analyzing student data to determine student profile of needs, and for making instructional placement and instructional focus decisions.
    • Collaborate and consult with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other specialists in a problem-solving approach to implement the most effective instructional plan for students.
    • Work with students of diverse backgrounds and who struggle with academic and motivation issues.
    • Develop schedules and flexible groupings of homogeneous skills based on updated student performance data
    • Support the preparation and training around lesson plans and materials according to curriculum guidelines.
    • Support the adaptation of teaching methods/strategies and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.
    • Establish and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to students, teachers and parents.
    • Create and support academic partnership through individual student goal-setting and data-sharing folders for parents and teachers.
    • Collaborate and communicate consistently with classroom teachers to ensure appropriate student placement and academic progress.
    • Support professional development training and coaching for classroom volunteers in small group strategic intervention using an evidence-based intervention reading program and effective teaching practices.
    • Support in the development of lesson plans in collaboration with classroom volunteers conducting small group instruction.
    • Manage, organize and institute systems and structures for classroom volunteers (scheduling, reporting hours, requirements, procedures, and/or processes.)
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Must possess or qualify for a Colorado Teaching Certificate and must have demonstrated expertise.
    5+ years of classroom experience in K-3 preferred
    Must be knowledgeable about research-based, effective teaching practices, and national and state content standards and curriculum.
    Experienced in Early Literacy instruction and/or reading intervention
    Bilingual preferred; proficiency in reading, writing, listening and speaking Spanish is highly desirable

    Experience working collaboratively with the Data Team Process/RtI
    Experience analyzing and interpreting data to identify effective interventions.
    Experience working with at-risk populations and English Language Learners (ELLs).
    Experience working with Adult Learners in a classroom setting
    Experience implementing high-impact Family Engagement practices.
    Experience in using DIBELS Next/IDEL and/or STAR Assessment
    Experience using Voyager Sopris Passport and/or Pasaporte Reading Intervention program
    Experience in volunteer management and/or adult learning
