Description of Service Opportunity:
The Upper School Summer Learning Camp is a four week (4 hour per day, 8:30-12:30) summer learning experience for selected scholars in present Grades 5-7. The program will operate at the Putnam Avenue Upper School from July 11 to
August 5.

The program will consist of a rotating block schedule of Math and ELA classes. Each grade level (5-6, 6-7, 7-8) will have a capacity of 2 classrooms with approximately 10 scholars per classroom. Students interested in afternoon programming will be referred to our partners at the Cambridge Agenda for Children for recommended community programs.
The Upper School Summer Learning Camp Teacher, under the direction of the Upper School Summer Learning Camp Principal and K-12 Summer Program Manager will be responsible for all duties connected with literacy instruction as well as other duties required within the program to help maintain and foster a school climate that promotes high expectation of all students. Teachers will be provided with training on district-selected curriculum for the program, and information about the curriculum ahead of the training dates.
The Upper School Summer Learning Camp Teacher will work (7:30-1:00) 5.5 hours each day, inclusive of prep time, and attend a weekly staff meeting 1-2pm on Mondays. Teachers must attend program orientation, classroom set up hours, and relevant curriculum training to be scheduled July 6-8, prior to the beginning of camp on July 11th.

Minimum Requirement/Job Qualifications:
The Upper School Summer Learning Camp Teachers must have the ability to teach students of diverse learning styles and grade levels.
Preference given to regularly appointed teachers from Cambridge Public School District.

Contract Dates:
July 1, 2022 through August 5, 2022

Contract Amount:
$35.00 per hour, Not to exceed $4,550.00
