Description of Service Opportunity:
The Reading Recovery Teacher will work in the Title I Summer Camps to support Reading Recovery (incoming Grade 2) students who have not discontinued, have not completed the Program or were on the school's waiting list during this past school year. Camp will be held at the following schools: King Open, Morse and Peabody Schools. The Reading Recovery Teacher will work closely with the child's school based Reading Recovery Teacher to ensure that the continuity of the student's program is not interrupted.
Teachers will work twenty (20) hours per week for 4 weeks. Camps will operate 5 days per week. An additional 1 hour per week of collaborative planning time with colleagues is also provided. The Reading Recovery Teacher will also attend planning and training meetings (focused on ELA/SEL curriculum and COVID protocols). In addition, the Reading Recovery Teacher, prior to the start of the Program, will review assessments and communicate with the Reading Recovery Teacher-Leader(s) and the Summer Camp teaching team. The Reading Recovery teacher will plan and document the child's progress over the course of the program. Parent involvement is strongly recommended. Each Reading Recovery Teacher is expected to work with four children and if LLI trained, to teach small groups.

Minimum Requirement/Job Qualifications:
Completed Reading Recovery/LLI Training required
CPS trained Reading Recovery Teachers will be given preference

Contract Dates:
July 1, 2022 through August 5, 2022

Contract Amount:
$35.00 per hour, Not to exceed $4,375.00
