HIRING SALARY RANGE: $36,750 - $44,100 per year

POSITION SALARY RANGE: $36,750 - $63,750 per year

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION:

The SLPA assists speech language pathologists to treat a variety of speech language disorders in children. The SLPA implements treatment plans developed by and under the direction of the SLP. The SLPA also collects data, prepares charts and graphs, and performs other support duties as directed by the supervising SLP.

SUPERVISED BY:Director of Special Education

ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS:
  • Follow documented intervention plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP
  • Document student performance (e.g., tally data for the SLP to use; prepare progress charts and records) and report this information to the SLP
  • Assist the SLP with speech-language and hearing screenings (without interpretation)
  • Assist the SLP during assessment of students
  • Assist with informal documentation
  • Assist with clerical duties and departmental operations, such as preparing materials and scheduling activities
  • Support the SLP in research projects, in-service training, and public relations programs
  • Collect data for quality monitoring and improvement
