Job Description

Position Title: Multimedia Content Coordinator

Payroll/Personnel Type: 12 Month

Reports to: Executive Director of Communication

Position Summary:

The Multimedia Content Coordinator (MCC) is the backbone of the District's SLPS TV, video production studio and cable television operation. The person in this position will be the primary videographer and producer for these operations which includes a new inventory of updated equipment. He/she will collaborate with the Director of Communications to set quality control and content standards for all District videos. The MCC will oversee inventory and acquisition of video equipment as well as management of all aspects of television production, broadcasting, and administration for the district's educational access station. This person will also be expected to take a lead role in the education of students of all ages, both in the headquarters studio and at various school sites. The MCC will share responsibility for content distribution and maintenance of both the District's website and its social media channels.

Essential Functions:
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite Premiere and Photoshop are a must, and After Effects is a major bonus
  • Ability to shoot high quality video in a variety of styles, from "run and gun," news style shoots to intricate commercial production sessions
  • Manage schedule and usage of the SLPS TV studio, while working to create new programming that will make the studio a value to more SLPS students
  • Act as the conduit between the Communications Department and communications programs at various schools around the District, assisting in teaching and creating programming for students
  • Maintain the SLPS Cable channel This involves converting all video content we produce through the Bright Author software system
  • Manage and maintain schedule for live streaming of all school board meetings as well as other sessions falling within the public record
  • Maintain and oversee all video and photography equipment. This includes developing an inventory and check out system for gear being used in the field
  • Work with webmaster to act as a backup on maintenance of the SLPS.org website as well as the District's intranet
  • Work with webmaster and Director of Communications to assist in social media strategy, content creation, and distribution
  • Produce, supervise, evaluate, and direct, original programming for the cable access channel
  • Supervise all programming and scheduling for the cable station's 24-hour a day seven days a week broadcast channel
  • Assign documentation of district activities as requested
  • Post and manage district electronic signage
  • Maintain station's broadcast infrastructure and explore expansion
  • Direct quality control over all district video content
  • Supervise Freelance videographers, editors, engineers, and graphic artist as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of digital video/audio recording in the studio and on location
  • Knowledge of non-linear video editing, including Adobe editing software packages
  • Knowledge of still and motion graphics including compositing in Photoshop and After Effects
  • Knowledge of digital broadcast devices and electronic signage
  • Knowledge of social media content creation and strategy
  • Ability to quickly learn computer hardware and software
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong academic skills
  • Strong interpersonal and management skills
  • Ability to consistently meet all delivery dates
  • Drone piloting experience and FAA license are a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML is a plus


Experience:
  • Candidate must have 10 years of experience in television production, either on the news or commercial production side. Managerial experience is preferred


Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Broadcast Journalism, or a related field (required)
  • Master's Degree (preferred)


Physical Requirements:
  • Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body
  • Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree


Working Conditions and Environment:
  • Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Very limited or no exposure to physical risk
