The East Baton Rouge Parish School System's Communications Department is seeking an intern/student for the 2022 summer session.
Candidates can gain a wealth of experience in a wide range of areas for a multifaceted department that engages in public relations, programming, public service announcements, editing, graphic design, various social media platforms and much more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in media coverage of East Baton Rouge School System news for radio, television and newspaper outlets.

Assists with developing story ideas, planning interviews, conducting interviews, scheduling appearances and producing news releases, news stories and media alerts.

Assists in supporting and promoting the school system, personnel and activities.

Assists in the planning of school-related events.

Assists in publicizing accolades, accomplishments and achievements of students, teachers, principals and all other staff.

Assists in editing a variety of content, including videos, graphics, public service announcements, financial reports, board documents, literary manuals, stories, letters and memos.

Assists in answering media and public inquiries through calls, emails, texts and social media platforms.

Assists in the production of videos and photos.

Assists in any other assignments from the supervisor.
