PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for performing security work at the Central Office and in the field. Works closely with the SRO, Principal and school staff in monitoring the SCCPSS schools via cameras.

REPORTS TO: Chief, Campus Police
SALARY SCHEDULE: G-5
WORK DAYS: 250

REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Education Level: High school diploma
  1. Experience, Skill, and Certification:
  • No criminal record
  • Oral and verbal skills to meet with public and take orders from supervisor
  • Able to pass 120 hr. of recruitment training
  • Knowledge of basic laws
  • Ability to work with common business software
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
    1. Greets all visitors to the central office or field location ensuring the appropriate nature of their visit, and directs them to the appropriate office.
    2. Maintains records of all visitors' arrival and departure times.
    3. Answer phones.
    4. Monitoring alarms and cameras:
      1. Must remain alert, looking for anything unusual.
      2. Conduct security checks via cameras of school property (i.e.
    hallways, doors, parking lots, etc.).
    1. Protects property and deter criminal activity.
    2. Reports all suspicious activity immediately.
    3. In an emergency, must notify police, fire or EMS;

    1. Inspects central office or field location for good safety practices in compliance with state laws.
    2. Assists in elimination of malicious mischief, vandalism, destruction, theft, burglary, and dishonesty at the central office.
    3. Cooperates with the uniformed police in the prevention of criminal trespass or other related investigations.
    4. Performs routine, regular patrol duties around the central office building.
    5. Makes verbal and written reports.
    6. May be used as a crossing guard when needed.
    Performs other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will be considered "at will." Appropriate pay will be determined based on the Grade as determined by Human Resources and allowable experience. The work calendar will be the 250 day employee calendar. Non-exempt (G 5).
