Districtwide Substitute Building Maintainer

Description:
The district is looking to expand our pool of substitute building maintainers. We are seeking qualified applicants to substitute part time for school building maintainers at (1) High School, (1) Middle School, (4) Elementary Schools, (1) Kindergarten Center (B-3, Pre-K, K).

Candidates should have the flexibility to work 1st and 2nd shifts including weekends, have a valid State of Connecticut driver's license and reliable transportation. Experience in building cleaning, maintenance, sidewalk snow removal and managing tasks in a school environment is desirable. Grounds keeping experience is a plus. Candidates must have the ability to complete tasks through verbal and/or written instructions and must behave in a responsible courteous manner when relating to students, staff and the public.

Qualifications:
Ability to lift and carry objects of 25 - 50 lbs., be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, have a high school diploma, have general maintenance and/or cleaning experience preferably in an educational setting and can successfully pass a back ground check, physical, alcohol and drug screening. Fingerprints are required at time of hire.

Selection Procedure:
Your application will be reviewed by the Facilities Department. Qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview with the Facilities Manager and/or Custodial Supervisor which may include a demonstration of skills. The successful candidate will be formally notified prior to being added to the substitute pool.

Salary: $16.00 per hour
