Job Details

St. Maria Goretti invites applications for the position of a World Language teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year. Teaching Spanish I and II with a homeroom are required, depending on candidate abilities other duties may be included. Located in Hagerstown, St. Maria Goretti High School is a co-ed Roman Catholic college preparatory school. This position begins in August of 2022.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement daily lessons for students based on AOB Spanish curriculum
  • Manage all aspects of the classroom (including but not limited to: instruction, discipline, communication etc.)
  • Communicate student progress with parents through in person and online systems
  • Engage in co-curricular programs

Job Requirements:

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a world language (Spanish must be one) or Education.
  • A fluency in Spanish and at least one other world language with preference given to a candidate who can speak two world languages including Spanish.
  • MSDE secondary certification or willingness to obtain within two years
  • Experience teaching all levels of a foreign language and pedagogical knowledge that encourages critical thinking.
  • A passion for the 21st century student.
